Paypal
PayPal is one of the largest digital payments companies in the world, with a strong global user base across online checkout, wallets, merchant services, and peer-to-peer payments. I added it to my portfolio because the stock had fallen to a very low valuation, while the business remains profitable, cash-generative, and still growing slowly. Although PayPal is no longer priced like a high-growth fintech company, its revenue per share continues to improve through strong free cash flow and aggressive share buybacks. At the time of my purchase, the stock was trading at around 8x earnings and roughly 1.2x sales, which looked too cheap for a company of this scale. I also liked that PayPal has additional upside through product improvements, Venmo, merchant solutions, and its stablecoin PYUSD. Overall, I saw PayPal as an undervalued payments cash-flow business where the market may be overly pessimistic about its long-term relevance.
